WHAT TO EXPECT

When I started guiding in Canada about 10 years ago my first priority was making sure my hunters had the best experience possible. However, I was not satisfied with the lodging and had difficulty finding a suitable place for my hunters to stay. Then about 8 years ago I got a phone call from Holly Penner in Saskatchewan. She and her husband Nathan ask if I would consider working with them on lodging. After we talked and they told me about their place I jumped right on it. They own the Prairie Thunder Lodge near Saltcoats . It’s located out on their farm and it’s private. Nathan and Holly are two of the hardest working people I have ever met. They are extremely nice and do their upmost to provide a good experience when staying at their lodge. The lodge consist of 3 bed rooms with 3 beds in two rooms and two beds in one room. It will sleep 8 hunters very comfortable. There are two complete bathrooms with showers and a great room. It’s located off the beaten path. At night you can sit around the camp fire and tell lies while listening to geese roosting in nearby ponds. The food is great!!! Holly does a first class job in providing home cook meals that will melt in your mouth. They will even cook your geese and ducks on the grill if you give them enough notice when staying at the lodge. When you book your hunt with me I will have everything taken care of and you would arrive the evening before the hunt for dinner. Then the next morning you will have a continental breakfast and after the morning hunt come back for a hot lunch. Then after the evening hunt you will come back for a great dinner. I don’t think anyone walks away without getting enough to eat. She does a terrific job.

I know how some people may feel uncomfortable about staying at a place they never stayed before. No worries here. This place is very clean and it blends in well for hunting. Nearly all of my hunters who stayed last season rebooked before leaving the lodge.

It’s part of a great experience hunting ducks and geese with Bay Prairie Outfitters in Saskatchewan Canada.

Good Hunting.
